A person who has a Cisco CCSP Certification is someone whose has advanced knowledge and skills that are required in order to secure Cisco Networks. Those who have attained a Cisco Certified Security Professional qualification can demonstrate to others that they have the skills to not only make the network infrastructure secure but manage it correctly to protect the networks productivity and save a business money by reducing the costs of running it.
When you undergo the training to become a Cisco CCSP you will spend time learning about various areas of Cisco’s technology. The main technologies which are covered in the curriculum for this particular course are as follows:-

2. Cisco’s VPN Management
3. Cisco’s PIX Firewall technology
4. Cisco’s Adaptive Security Appliance

In order to obtain this qualification after training a person will need to pass four exams rather than five which was previously required. Three of which are those you are required to take and the fourth one is which the person elects to do. This actual certificate was established by Cisco back in 2002 and the changes to the exams that are now required took place in 2003. Once a person has attained their certification they will then need to undergo recertification every three years as this is the length of time that the certificate is valid for. When undergoing recertification for the CCSP a person needs to be able to take and pass the current versions of the appropriate exams. If you feel you may have problems actually passing such exams it is worth considering doing some kind of refresher course. A quick search online and you will find plenty of places offering you the chances to do your recertification training either by doing it online or by attending a boot camp. Either way you can still carry on working where you are currently until such time as you have attained your recertification. If you are someone who can afford to take at least a week off work then attending one of Cisco’s many boot camps is the perfect choice. Here you will spend a week covering all aspects of the latest versions of the equipment that you are using and will be able to get immediate answers to any questions you may have. However, be prepared to work hard and only use this kind of training if you are someone who can work well under pressure.
